Today, we delve into the crucial role of color in our 2-minute film opening. Color serves as a important visual tool, conveying mood and thematic elements to the audience. It's pivotal in guiding viewers through the narrative journey, allowing them to connect with the characters and storyline on a deeper level. However, if utilized incorrectly, color can derail the entire cinematic experience, leading to confusion and hindering audience engagement. 

In our film, we made deliberate choices in color palettes to effectively communicate the emotional landscape of our protagonist. Throughout the entirety of the film, we opted for somber hues, weaving a tapestry of darkness that mirrors the inner turmoil of our main character. By enveloping the scenes in darkness, we aimed to immerse the audience in the protagonist's emotional journey, allowing them to empathize with the struggles depicted on screen. The use of dark colors serves as a visual shorthand, effectively conveying the protagonist's feelings of despair and isolation. 

Moreover, we decided to employ shifts in color to denote rare moments of happiness within the film. During these fleeting instances of joy, we transitioned from the somber, dark tones to bright, vibrant colors. This stark contrast serves as a powerful visual cue, signaling to the audience the genuine emotion experienced by the main character. By contrasting the darkness with bursts of brightness, we aimed to accentuate the authenticity of these moments, ensuring that the audience fully grasps the protagonist's emotional journey. Through these nuanced shifts in color, we invite viewers to immerse themselves in the protagonist's world, experiencing the highs and lows alongside them, and ultimately fostering a deeper connection with the film's themes and characters.
